Vocabase is a utility for testing. You can use it for foreign language, or any other type of questions which have short answers. I use it for German Vocab. Since you can make any number of lessons of any type, it will work for just about anything.
Vocabase is still pretty rough. You may find it a bit uncomprehensive at first, but once you get the hang of it, it can be useful. If you have any questions, e-mail me at:

Vocabase is freeware if you find is mildy helpful. However, if you use it a lot, please send me $5. Believe me, it makes a huge difference to whether or not I continue to make things like this. College is expensive as well. If $5 is too much, send me something interesting, or at least an e-mail message with a good joke.
To use vocabase:
Launch the application.
Select New Lesson and enter a name.
Click in the box for Editor On
The first field is highlighted. Type in the promp/question - hit TAB - type in the answer. Hit Return or click ADD. Now you have added a new item.
Vocabase moves back to the first field when you click ADD - type over the text to enter a new prompt and hit TAB - enter the answer - hit return.
This way, you can enter many items quickly.
When you are ready to test - turn of the editor. Vocabase shows the first prompt. Type in the answer and hit return. Vocabase tests you through all the questions, and repeats the ones you missed.
You can have many lessons in one file. There is a sample lesson of German vocab included which you can delete.
If you make a new file, you can put new lessons there. The pop up menu only shows the lessons from the current file.
The large box on the right is for any information you want. Turn on the editor and type in anything for this field - it might be a set of answers for the lesson - or a reminder of how the lesson works. What you type in this box appears in the box for the entire lesson.
If you are doing a lesson and you realize you made a mistake, turn on the editor, use the scroll bar to find the right item - and change it. Then press CHANGE! not ADD. If you hit ADD you'll just add a new item instead of changing the old one.
Currently, Vocabase is set so that is is CAPS sensitive - ie: If the answer is Long Island, and you type Long island, it's wrong. If you would like to see a version with options to change things like this, do tell.
